As part of the National Assessment of Educational Progress in 2015, educators and students completed background surveys that shed light on a variety of factors, including use of computers in the classroom. Survey results indicate that, on average, 8th grade math students more commonly used classroom computers for "passive" activities, such as practice or review, than for "active" purposes, such as researching a math topic.
