In honor of President Barack Obama having October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month, the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services is featuring employment success stories on its .

The site highlights projects and initiatives funded by the Office of Special Education Programs, the Rehabilitation Services Administration, and the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitative Research that improve employment outcomes for people with disabilities.

鈥淧resident Obama and I recognize the critical role that education plays in empowering the next generation of Americans with disabilities,鈥 said U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan in a statement earlier this month. 鈥淭hrough education, we can help people with disabilities build a strong foundation of knowledge and marketable skills with expectations for employment and the ability to give back to others in their communities.鈥
