Dr. Yang is an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management Technology in the School of Engineering Technology. She joined 麻豆精品 in 2016 after receiving her Ph.D. in Logistics & Supply Chain Management with minor in Marketing from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She obtained her M.B.A. from Durham University in UK and Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science & Applications from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. She worked in the high-tech industry for over ten years, focusing primarily on business planning, product and vertical marketing, and market research. Prior to pursuing the doctoral degree, she worked as Senior Planning Manager at Microsoft, Segment Marketing Manager at Hewlett-Packard, and Consulting Director at International Data Corporation (IDC).
Dr. Yang focuses her effort on applied research to promote operational innovations and solve real-world operational challenges through mathematical modeling, data analytics, and simulation. In the past few years, she has been helping organizations to improve demand forecast accuracy, reduce inventory while increase service level, optimize procurement, and re-design distribution network and facility locations, which in some cases improve the company’s bottom line by more than 15%. She is a co-inventor and co-developer of a model/software that solves resource allocation and task scheduling issues in project management and is licensed and under commercialization by a startup company.
