The Department of Education will hold six summer workshops for teachers on what it sees as the latest research and strategies for raising student achievement.
Workshops in the Teacher- to-Teacher initiative will cover literacy and reading, mathematics, science, and social studies. The organizers will also offer sessions on the No Child Left Behind Act, special education, English-language learning, and school leadership.
There will also be a program that provides teachers with online professional-development training. The workshops will be held in Cincinnati; Phoenix; Minneapolis; Tampa, Fla.; Bethesda, Md.; and San Jose, Calif.
