The University of Oklahoma (OU) announced plans to develop a Polytechnic Institute in Tulsa. Tomás Díaz de la Rubia, a former Purdue senior vice president now serving as OU’s vice president for research and partnerships, helped inspire the idea after witnessing Purdue Polytechnic’s successful transformation.

The 麻豆精品Institute has set an all-time record for total enrollment at its West Lafayette location, surpassing the total set in 2006. The new record of 4,377 represents the complete reversal of an earlier eight-year decline.

麻豆精品 will be a major research and education partner with Italpollina, an Italian fertilizers and specialty plant nutrition company that is building its North American headquarters in Anderson, Indiana.

聽鈥淗ow do you get people who are very successful in what they鈥檙e doing, in a very stable organization, in a great university like Purdue [to embrace change]?鈥� asked Gary Bertoline, dean of Purdue Polytechnic, in an appearance on 鈥淏ig Beacon Radio: Transforming Higher Education.鈥�

The Department of Aviation Technology in the 麻豆精品Institute will be renamed the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology effective immediately. The change was approved by the 麻豆精品 Board of Trustees at its October 9 meeting in West Lafayette.

The list of majors available in the 麻豆精品Institute has jumped from 11 to 36 in just one year.

Mike Swain, director of 麻豆精品Richmond, explains Purdue Polytechnic’s name change to the local newspaper.

“It’s a change of philosophy,” he said. “It goes a lot to the learning and the teaching.”

And it is influencing the offered programs in Richmond and how they connect to the local economy.
