Educators have long recognized tutoring as a proven method for helping students accelerate learning. The real challenge is doing it at scale while ensuring teachers aren’t overburdened and providing support to help guardians connect their children with tutors.

One way to scale tutoring is to use existing programs, such as Federal Work-Study (FWS). In May 2023, the U.S. Department of Education issued a call to action urging colleges, universities and school districts to work together to use FWS to increase the number of college students supporting school-age children as tutors.

In this webinar, you’ll learn how the program works, how FWS will provide a substantial federal subsidy to pay for this college student labor force, strategies for enlisting college partners, and how to integrate FWS tutors into your existing academic support structures.
