There鈥檚 a lot of uncertainty among K-12 leaders and educators over what AI means for their future. One thing is clear: AI might not replace you, but someone who knows how to use it will.

While educators are thinking about how artificial intelligence will impact instruction, there鈥檚 a generation of students who will need to be prepared for an AI-powered future. What does the field need to prepare young people for this eventuality?

Peter DeWitt will be joined by high school principal Kip Glazer, EdWeek鈥檚 Deputy Managing Editor Kevin Bushweller, and Ken Koedinger, Hillman Professor of computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University.

Kevin Bushweller is a deputy managing editor for 澳门跑狗论坛 who oversees coverage of educational technology, learning environments, and the weekly EdWeek Tech Leader, a news service for ed-tech leaders in K-12 education. He is also the executive project editor of Technology Counts, 澳门跑狗论坛鈥檚 annual report about the state of educational technology in U.S. schools.
Dr. Kip Glazer
Principal, Mountain View High School
Dr. Kip Glazer is a proud Principal of Mountain View High School in Mountain View California, home of Google and in the heart of Silicon Valley. She has been a classroom teacher, technology coach, and school administrator for over two decades. She is passionate about connecting researchers and practitioners. She holds a Learning Technologies Doctorate from Pepperdine University, and she has expertise in AI, game-based learning, and educational technologies. In recent years, she participated in several hosted by , a project funded by the National Science Foundation. She also participated in the hosted by the US Department of Education鈥檚 Office of Education Technology at the launch of the official report, 鈥.鈥 She is a and a member of the . Kenneth Koedinger
Hillman Professor of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University
Ken Koedinger is the Hillman Professor of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University. His research has contributed new principles and techniques for engineering effective learning summarized in the Knowledge-Learning-Instruction (KLI) Framework. To support the application of KLI and drive innovation in learning, Koedinger provides learning engineering resources and education through LearnLab, including an open learning data analytics infrastructure. A former high school teacher, he is well known for developing intelligent tutoring systems for mathematics, which use AI to provide students with personalized learning support. He helped form Carnegie Learning which was the first AI in Education company to bring intelligent tutoring technology to K12 students.鈥 He is a fellow of Cognitive Science, the Association of Psychological Science, and the Association of Computing Machinery.
