Librarians and Teachers: What Books Are You Displaying for Black History Month?

Last year, we asked you to share your curriculum ideas for teaching Black History month, and . This year, we’re asking you to show, not tell.

Are you planning a bookshelf or school library display to celebrate Black History Month? We want to see it. Send us a picture of the books and resources you’re using to celebrate the month. We’ll feature a selection of the images you send us.

Either Tweet us your pictures using the hashtag #BlackHistoryBookshelf or email them to mhendrie@epe.org.

Check back for inspiration from your fellow educators and librarians in the coming month. In the meantime, look back on and advice for bringing black history to life in the classroom throughout the month of February—. After all, teaching the history and contributions of African-Americans should be a year-round pursuit.
