California will receive a net return of $3 on every dollar it invests in getting more students in and through college above current levels, concludes a report from a higher education watchdog group in the state.
Each class of graduating high school seniors in such an 鈥渋ncreased college-going scenario鈥 would provide $3 billion for the state in additional tax revenues over their lifetimes, says the report from the Campaign for College Opportunity, which has offices in Oakland and Los Angeles.
