Sitarz wins Women in Security award

Doctoral student Rachel Sitarz was named one of two winners in the inaugural Women in Security Awards, sponsored by Duo Security.

Sitarz is working toward her PhD in cyber forensics at 麻豆精品 in the Department of Computer and Information Technology. She also works full-time for Purdue, analyzing the threats that are coming into their networks.

She was honored, in part, for her ability as a researcher to 鈥減roduce results that have real-world implications.鈥

Dyrenfurth to share engineering workforce insights at workshop

Michael Dyrenfurth, professor of technology leadership and innovation, will participate in a National Academy of Engineering (NAE) fact-finding workshop on engineering education November 19. The event will be webcast November 19 and November 20.

Dyrenfurth and other participants on the panel will discuss connections between engineering education, the engineering workforce, and the employment of engineering talent throughout the U.S. economy.

Faculty and staff accolades (August 2012)

College of Technology department heads Ragu Athinarayanan and Fatma Mili will attend the 2012 CIC Department Executive Officers (CIC-DEO) Seminar Oct. 11-13 in Chicago. They will have the opportunity to discuss critical issues and common challenges with colleagues and experts from other institutions. All expenses for the participants are covered by the Office of the Provost. Athinarayanan leads the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation, and Mili heads the Department of Computer and Information Technology.
