A group of Â鶹¾«Æ·Richmond students redesigned a municipal park for a computer graphics technology capstone project. Addie Rose, Ethan Clark, Matthew Wair and Kaitlyn Jurgens created a new vision for the 0.15 acre park that connects East Main Street to Jack Elstro Plaza in Richmond.
“We saw a need in Richmond and we were excited to combine our talents to improve the city, and influence the space in a positive way,” Jurgens said.
The students recently presented their plans to Denise Retz, the city’s park superintendent, Mayor Dave Snow, Ian Vanness, the city's director of infrastructure and development, and Izzi Walterman, the parks department's floral and beautification leader.
“We were beyond excited to have this opportunity to collaborate and offer our expertise to the community,” said Sarah George, associate professor of practice. “I had no doubt the students were ready to tackle such an advanced project.”
